It started in 1993 as a ITIL-club and today it has become the largest, independent organisation for IT service management and IT management. ITSMF facilitates a knowledge platform where members can exchange their experiences. In recent years, the ITSMF focus changed from only IT service management to IT Management. ITSMF collects knowledge and best practices, shares it with its members through seminars and conferences, books and research papers. Since a number of years the executive level (CIOs) has been included in the target audience.

The IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) is a global, independent, internationally recognized not-for-profit organisation dedicated to IT Service Management. itSMF is wholly owned and principally run by its membership.
